The summer is all about hitting the beach and relaxing. It is a time to recharge your batteries to prepare for the next school year. As I lie on the beach, I see people choosing different ways to unwind...playing volleyball, boogie boarding, making sand castles and of course, reading a good book.
There is nothing better than getting lost in a good book, but I have noticed a change on the beaches. Instead of pulling out a solid paperback, more and more people have been swiping across Kindles, Nooks and iPads. IT MAKES ME NUTS!

I love my technology. My home is furnished with an Xbox, Playstation (no I do not have children, but do have a husband who acts like one), iPods, iPads, iPhones, Laptops and the list goes on. I just can't make the leap to electronic books. I love the smell of a book when you first open it. It takes me to another place.
The beach is a place for me to unplug. Nothing can replace the feel of a book. Maybe it brings me back to my childhood days when I would hide curling up with a good book. Maybe I am set in my old ways and am just too stubborn to change, but for me nothing can substitute a paperback book. In the end, whether you choose paper or plastic, don't forget to sit back and really soak in your story. Let your imagination flow.
